Tricky Escapes: The Magic Of Locks, Keys, And Safes

Good day. I'm Joe Seymour and I work part-time as a magician. Recently, I've had to learn a few new tricks because, quite frankly, people aren't impressed with disappearing coins anymore. My new repertoire involves various tricks that use locks, keys, and safes as props. I've actually become quite fixated on all the different types I've found and how they work. My best trick these days is getting an audience member to put money in a safe and lock it with their own combination. Even in a digital world, people love seeing how quickly I can "crack the code". My newfound fascination with locks, keys, and safes has led me to seek out others who have a little know-how in this area. Hopefully, you'll enjoy my blog and my research will help me to gain ideas for new tricks. Just turn the key and step on in.

Keeping Your Car Keys Safe and Secure: 3 Top Tips

Realising that you have locked your car keys inside the vehicle or that your auto key is broken has got to be one of the worst feelings in the world. If this occurs, you may face a wait for a mobile locksmith who will be able to come out to your location to force the lock on the car so you can gain entry. This can be costly and time-consuming. Thankfully, there are some steps you can take which will help to prevent this situation from occurring. Read on to find out everything you need to know.

1. Get a spare set of keys

When you buy a new car, the dealership should supply you with two sets of keys. However, if you purchase a used car, it is important that you ask for both sets of keys. Sometimes the seller will forget to give you the additional set of keys unless you ask for them. However, in some cases, the seller may have lost the spare set of keys for the vehicle. If this is the case, you should contact an auto locksmith who will be able to produce a copy of the master key for you.

2. Keep your car keys secure

As the adage goes, prevention is better than cure. When it comes to locking your car keys inside your vehicle, the easiest way to prevent this problem is to ensure that they are in a secure place. For example, you could buy a key belt which an elasticated strap which you can attach to your car keys. This will prevent you from leaving them behind inside the vehicle or from dropping and losing them.

3. Have manual as well as electronic keys

Many modern automobiles are fitted with electronic keys which allow you to open the car and start the engine by pressing a button on the key fob. However, if the electronic key malfunctions, you could find yourself locked out of your car. You can avoid this issue by asking a locksmith to cut a traditional metal car key which fits into the lock on the door. While you will not be able to use this key to start the engine, you will at least be able to gain access to your vehicle.

If you would like some more information and advice about keeping your car keys safe, you should get in touch with a mobile locksmith today.
